Iya Sako, djembé fola, born in upper Guinea, is resident in the UK and available to teach traditional West African Malinké rhythms.

Teaching can be tailored to your individual needs ranging from one-to-one private tuition to workshops for adults or children. Iya's aim as a teacher is to share traditional Malinké culture and music with others. Malinké rhythms are his life’s work and passion.

Fankabah CD Now available online

Malinké Rhythms was recorded in Conakry, Republic of Guinea in February/March 2007. Made as a field recording, it has 10 tracks played by some of the best Malinké djembe and dundun masters to come from Guinea in recent years. Fankabah originally formed in 2004/5 from djembe and dundun folas who met through family or work connections with Famoudou Konaté.
